Yalo
Yalo (bahasa Arab: يالو, juga ditransliterasikan Yalu) adalah sebuah desa Arab Palestina yang terletak 13 kilometer di tenggara Ramla.[1] Diidentifikasi oleh Edward Robinson sebagai kota kuno Kanaan dan Israel, Aijalon.[1][2] Selama Abad Pertengahan, tempat ini merupakan lokasi kastil Tentara Salib, Castrum Arnaldi.
Setelah Perang Arab-Israel 1948, Yordania mencaplok Tepi Barat, termasuk desa Yalo. Populasi Yalo meningkat drastis karena masuknya pengungsi Palestina dari kota-kota dan desa-desa tetangga yang tidak berpenghuni selama perang.
Selama Perang Enam Hari 1967, penduduk Yalo diusir oleh Pasukan Pertahanan Israel (IDF) dan desa tersebut dihancurkan. Yalo dan daerah sekitar Latrun dianeksasi dari Yordania oleh Israel.[3][4] Selanjutnya, dengan sumbangan dari para dermawan Kanada, Dana Nasional Yahudi membangun tempat rekreasi, Taman Kanada, yang berisi bekas lokasi Yalo dan dua desa tetangga lainnya, Dayr Ayyub dan Imwas.[5][6]
