Anton Ažbe
Anton Ažbe (30 Mei 1862 – 6 Agustus 1905) merupakan seorang pelukis realis Slovenia dan guru lukis. Ažbe, lumpuh sejak lahir dan yatim piatu pada usia 8 tahun, belajar melukis sebagai murid Janez Wolf dan di Akademi Wina dan München. Pada usia 30, Ažbe mendirikan sekolah lukisannya sendiri di München yang menjadi daya tarik populer bagi siswa Eropa Timur. Ažbe melatih "empat besar" impresionis Slovenia (Rihard Jakopič, Ivan Grohar, Matej Sternen, Matija Jama), seluruh generasi pelukis Rusia (Ivan Bilibin, Mstislav Dobuzhinsky, Igor Grabar, Wassily Kandinsky, Dmitry Kardovsky dan Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin)[1] dan beberapa pelukis Serbia Nadežda Petrović, Beta Vukanović, Ljubomir Ivanović, Borivoje Stevanović, Kosta Miličević, dan Milan Milovanović.[2]
