INHA
Inhibin, alfa, juga dikenal sebagai INHA, adalah protein yang pada manusia dikodekan oleh gen INHA.[4]
Fungsi
[sunting | sunting sumber]Subunit inhibin-alfa bergabung dengan subunit beta A atau beta B untuk membentuk penghambat sekresi FSH hipofisis. Inhibin telah terbukti mengatur proliferasi sel stroma gonad secara negatif dan memiliki aktivitas penekan tumor. Selain itu, kadar serum inhibin telah terbukti mencerminkan ukuran tumor sel granulosa dan oleh karena itu dapat digunakan sebagai penanda untuk penyakit primer maupun rekuren.
Namun, pada kanker prostat, ekspresi gen subunit inhibin-alfa ditekan dan tidak terdeteksi pada sel tumor yang berdiferensiasi buruk. Selain itu, karena ekspresi dalam gonad dan berbagai jaringan ekstragonad dapat bervariasi beberapa kali lipat dengan cara yang spesifik untuk jaringan tertentu, diusulkan bahwa inhibin mungkin merupakan faktor pertumbuhan/diferensiasi dan hormon.[5]
