Ignicoccus adalah genus dari Archaea yang tinggal di ventilasi hidrotermal laut. Mereka ditemukan di Kolbeinsey Ridge utara dari Islandia dan di Samudra Pasifik (di 9 derajat LU, 104 derajat BB) pada tahun 2000 (Huber et al., 2000).
