Joseph Johnson (15 November 1738 – 20 Desember 1809) adalah penjual buku dan penerbit London dari abad ke-18. Johnson dikenal karena menerbitkan karya-karya pemikir radikal seperti Mary Wollstonecraft, William Godwin, Thomas Malthus, Joel Barlow, Priscilla Wakefield, Joseph Priestley, Anna Laetitia Barbauld, dan Gilbert Wakefield.

Johnson mendirikan bisnis penerbitan yang berfokus pada karya-karya religius pada tahun 1760-an. Pada tahun 1770-an dan 1780-an, ia memperbesar bisnisnya dan menerbitkan karya-karya penting dalam bidang kedokteran, sastra anak-anak, dan puisi karya William Cowper dan Erasmus Darwin. Selama kariernya, Johnson membantu membentuk pemikiran pada masanya melalui terbitan-terbitannya dan dukungannya terhadap penulis dan pemikir inovatif. Ia mendukung diskusi gagasan baru secara terbuka, terutama saat makan malam mingguannya, dan para pesertanya disebut "Lingkar Johnson."

Pada tahun 1790-an, Johnson mendukung Revolusi Prancis dan menerbitkan banyak pamflet politik serta jurnal Analytical Review yang memberi wadah bagi reformis Britania untuk bersuara. Pada tahun 1799, ia didakwa melakukan libel hasutan karena menerbitkan pamflet karya Gilbert Wakefield. Setelah dipenjara selama enam bulan, Johnson menerbitkan lebih sedikit karya politik. Pada masa akhir kariernya, ia tidak mencari banyak penulis baru; namun, ia masih menjadi penerbit yang berhasil karena menerbitkan kumpulan karya penulis seperti William Shakespeare.
