Montague Rhodes James OM FBA (1 Agustus 1862 – 12 Juni 1936) adalah seorang cendekiawan medievalist dan pengarang asal inggris yang menjabat sebagai provost King's College, Cambridge (1905–1918), dan Eton College (1918–1936) serta Wakil Kanselir Universitas Cambridge (1913–1915). Karya pembelajaran James masih sangat dihargai,[1] namun ia lebih dikenal karena cerita-cerita hantu buatannya, yang dianggap oleh banyak kritikus dan penulis sebagai karya terbaik dalam bahasa Inggris dan banyak berpengaruh pada horor modern.[2][3]
