"Pencerahan" menjadi "Kecerahan"

Dalam bahasa Inggris:

enlightenment (noun) the action of enlightening or the state of being enlightened.

Dalam KBBI:

• pencerahan n proses, cara, perbuatan mencerahkan
• kecerahan n hal (keadaan) cerah

Kata "pencerahan" mewakili definisi "the action of enlightening", sedangkan kata "kecerahan" mewakili definisi "the state of being enlightened". Bahasa Indonesia mengakomodasi kedua makna dalam dua padanan yang berbeda dari bahasa Inggris. Oleh karena konteks kata "bodhi" merujuk kepada "state" bukan "action/process", maka kata "kecerahan" lebih cocok digunakan.

Pada terjemahan Tipiṭaka versi terbaru oleh Lembaga Tipiṭaka Indonesia, digunakan "kecerahan" juga. Faredoka (bicara) 1 Januari 2024 07.21 (UTC)
