This template is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It could be used by the template {{Lang}} with language code gu to include articles in Category:Articles containing bahasa Gujarati-language text, if the category was created (using {{Category articles containing non-English-language text |bahasa Gujarati |gu}}). For example: {{Lang |gu |some text in bahasa Gujarati}}, which wraps the text with <span lang="gu">. Also available is {{Lang-gu |some text in bahasa Gujarati}} which displays as bahasa Gujarat: some text in bahasa Gujarati.
It is used by {{gu icon}} and {{Link language|gu}} to display the language of an external link. These templates could add articles to Category:Articles with bahasa Gujarati-language external links, if the category was created (using {{Non-English-language external links category |code=gu |name=bahasa Gujarati}}).
