Templat ini adalah referensi sendiri dan merupakan bagian dari proyek Wikipedia alih-alih konten ensiklopedia.
Templat ini secara otomatis akan mengategorisasikan templat terkini ke Kategori:Templat peta gambar berlabel.

- Lebar/Skala
Dalam contoh ini, semua lebar harus diset ke angka yang sama yaitu 400 sebagai lebar baku. Semuanya harus 400 agar templat ini dapat berganti ukuran. Ini berarti templat dapat ditampilkan dalam berbagai ukuran dengan memasukkan parameter lebar ke templat saat digunakan. Misalnya, {{Australia Labelled Map|width=500}} akan menampilkan gambar berlabel dalam ukuran lebar 500 piksel, bukannya 400.
Untuk mengubah ukuran baku, cari dan ganti
"{{{width|400}}}"
dengan
"{{{width|500}}}".
Untuk peta geografis Bumi, konform terhadap spesifikasi ini memungkinkan konversi yang lebih mudah untuk keperluan lain seperti pemakaian {{Location map+}}.
X/Y
Nilai X dan Y selalu antara 0 dan 1. Mereka merepresentasikan persentase lebar dan panjang tempat label akan ditempatkan. Titik pastinya adalah sudut kiri atas label gambar.

Float
Tiga pilihan:

{{{float|right}}} makes the image pushed to the right of the page by default
link
Specifies where the image should link to. If File: (the default), the image links to its file page. If empty, the image does not link to anything; this is appropriate for purely decorative images.
alt
Specifies text to be used in the image's "alt" attribute. If |link= is empty, this should be empty; if |link= is File: or is not given, this should describe the image; if |link= points to some other page this should describe the action that will be taken if you click on the image. See Wikipedia:Alternative text for images.
caption
Specifies text to be used in the image's "title" attribute. In certain browsers, this text will appear in a tooltip when the mouse pointer is rolled over it.
