Volkswagen Golf Mk4[2] (atau VW Typ 1J) adalah mobil berjenis hatchback yang diluncurkan oleh Volkswagen pada tahun 1997. Mobil ini merupakan mobil paling laris di Eropa pada tahun 2001.[3]
Golf Mk4 merupakan perwujudan usaha Volkswagen untuk memperluas pasar Volkswagen Golf dengan memberikan kualitas interior dan perangkat yang lebih baik, sehingga bisa bersaing dengan Audi A3.
Golf Mk4 digantikan oleh Volkswagen Golf Mk5 pada tahun 2004.
