Templat:Politik Vanuatu Republik Vanuatu telah menjadi anggota Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa sejak tahun kemerdekaannya pada 1980. Negara tersebut menjadi anggota aktif pada 1980an, saat, diperintah oleh Perdana Menteri Romo Walter Lini dan diwakili oleh Duta Besar Robert Van Lierop, negara tersebut menjadi advokat konsisten bagi dekolonisasi. Kemudian, tujuannya dalam PBB beralih ke masalah perubahan iklim dan vulnerabilitas Negara-Negara Berkembang Pulau Kecil.
