Yahudi Bait Kedua
Yudaisme Bait Kedua adalah Yudaisme antaranya pembangunan bait Yahudi kedua di Yerusalem, pada sekitar tahun 515 SM, dan penghancurannya oleh bangsa Romawi pada 70 Masehi. Perkembangan kanon Alkitab Ibrani, sinagoge, ekspektasi apokaliptik Yahudi untuk masa depan, dan Kekristenan, semuanya berkembang pada zaman Bait kedua.

Yerusalem dan Yehuda
Periode Bait Pertama berakhir pada 586 SM ketika raja Babilonia Nebukadnezar menaklukan Yerusalem, menghancurkan Bait Salomo, dan mengusir kaum elite ke Babilonia ("pengasingan Babilonia").[1] Pada 539 SM, Babilonia sendiri jatuh ke penakluk Persia Sirus, dan pada 538 SM, orang-orang yang diasingkan meminta ijin untuk kembali ke Yehud Medinata, karena provinsi Persia Yehuda diketahui.[2] Bait tersebut umumnya dikatakan dibangun kembali pada periode 520-515 SM, yang dikatakan menggenapi nubuat Yeremia.[3][2][4]
