Resolusi 1718 Dewan Keamanan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa diadopsi oleh Dewan Keamanan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa pada 14 Oktober 2006. Resolusi tersebut memberlakukan serangkaian sanksi ekonomi dan perdagangan terhadap Korea Utara setelah adanya klaim bahwa Korea Utara melakukan uji coba nuklir pada 9 Oktober 2006.[1][2]

The Security Council has frequently established sanction regimes[4] and has set up sanctions committees supervising their implementation.[5] The power of the Security Council to set up such regimes is firmly established in international law.
